Bruce Channon

Being your own boss(to a certain extent) has its advantages… Like having a mid week morning swim and spotting surfing legend and local hero, Bruce Channon enjoying a few empty basin ones.

Snakes & Ladders TV

This from the start of July by good friends of mine at www.snakesandladders.tv. Insane. The dirty sons of bidges are following the IBA world tour round shooting and directing the live feeds (amongst a zillion other things). But this ones about SemiPermanent2011.

DABSMYLA!

A lot of the time when we explain to people what we do and how we work they say…
“Man..you work together, and you are a couple! I’d end up killing my girlfriend/boyfriend if we collaborated on everything we did!”
I guess we are pretty lucky…two peas in a pod!
Two crazy, work-a-holic, mad dorks in a pod!
After years of living, painting walls and working together we have only become closer, stronger and even more in sync. Every day we wake up, paint all day..and keep each other entertained with constant chatter and stupid jokes.

Who could ask for more out of life!!

We are both originally from Melbourne Australia, and have been living and working in LA for the past 2 years, soaking up the sun and chaos that surrounds us.

Dave and Nyz.

Good friends David, Nyree and Charlie (the dog) in the home they built last year.

John Holland End Of Year Celebration.

Events help pay the bills. This one i did on behalf of The Popcorn Group for John Holland’s (1000 guest) end of year celebration last year in December.

Rockaway Taco. [the selby.com]

I recently got clued in on this dope online bookstore called bookdepository.co.uk and bought a whole bunch of coffee table books. Now if your and Amazon fan, how these two words will change your ways: FREE SHIPPING. One of the books was, The Selby Is In Your Place and which led me to his site and which led me to the movie he’s just made.  You’ll have to check it out on his site theselby.com coz i cant get the damn thing to embed on the homepage. If i wasn’t trying to get into the picture taking world this is what i’d be doing. Maybe not sleep on the roof though and probably with a booger instead of the shred stick.

While perusing coastalwatches site I came across this. Check this 52 camera setup to get the tracking around Matt Wilkinson. Click the heading to see the footage.

Summertime.

With summer come’s South swells and North winds, that can mean only one thing… Many a boat trip to.. well.. i could tell you, give it away and make one of my favourite spots on the east coast more crowded. We dont always get pits but we do have good times! For instance: This trip on the way out doing 25 maybe 30knots, we hit a wave and got airborne, Steados (the driver) got tossed out of his seat into the middle of the boat and kept driving from there. You’d think he would get back in his seat and slow the thing down considering we just buried the side of the boat in the water on landing, but… He just laughed it off and kept going full speed.

shots through the windscreen.

Working in the city and living on the northern beaches means alot of time spent in the car. I often see shit out the window and think, i wish i had a camera. So lately i’ve had my pocket canon camera on hand to quickly whip out should i feel the urge. This is what i’ve seen so far. Pics: 6am, fog sun-reflection and afternoon sun heading up to the cross.

ummm …i’mmm ..not to sure what to do with my hands.

Shot this for some friends of mine the other day. Thought we’d get a portrait while we were there.

6:30am and after.

Gave ‘the animal’ a call at 6:30am over the weekend, to luck into a bugs run. Roco on his maiden cherry popping voyage, fanta pants, hanny, steados. [pictures] 6:50am in the no wash part of pittwater. Bugs before the tide changed for the better. Making sure the sand-anchors holding at Patonga for beer and fish. If you look close that bush turkey has a chip in its mouth (no its not’s its yellow beak).

see you at the crossroads.
